D.a.T. SaUcE Songwriters Opportunity
DaT SaUcE has announced the 2nd Annual D.a.T. SaUcE Songwriting Competition. Winners will receive cash awards and other amenities, including the opportunity to appear onstage during the March 25-31, 2019 (Road To 3rd Street) Songs On The Bayou Songwriting Festival. The contest entry deadline is March 1, 2019. (now extended March 8, 2019).

The competition will feature a First, Second, and Third Place Winner in Overall All Genres, as well as additional prizes. The First place winner will receive $500 cash, the Second place winner will receive $250 and Third place winner, $100 cash. Best Blues/Soul, Best Gospel and Best D.a.T. SaUcE Commercial winners will each receive $500, and Best D.a.T. SaUcE Song will receive $250. All winners will win a spot on the Bayou Songwriters Retreat during the festival, which is on approximately 20,000 acres of scenic southern Louisiana Bayou waters, swamps and marshes, outside of Patterson, LA. They will all have the opportunity to write alone or with members of Last Honky Tonk Music Series. All winners will be given a spot on the private showcase in front of industry professionals during the festival, as well as a performance slot at other venue locations. In addition, first place winners will receive a special On Location Photo Shoot by LA Portrait Gallery, an opportunity to be featured on the D.a.T. SaUcE digital download, and two cases of DaT SaUcE and DaT KeTcHuP. Winners will receive full accommodations but must provide their own airfare/travel.
Official Rules: Contestants must email their original songs in an mp3 form, plus a Lyric Sheet PDF with their name, address and phone number, to datsaucela@gmail.com. A maximum of three song entrees per person is allowed, deadline is February 28, 2018. All genres and subject matters are welcome. There is no entry fee. Contestants must be the sole writers of the material, no co-writes are allowed. Contestants retain full ownership of their material, with the understanding that Entries in the Dat Sauce Song Contest and Commercial Contest will allow D.a.T SaUcE full use of any D.a.T. SaUcE commercial or D.a.T. SaUcE song. Winners will be announced on March 8, 2019 and will be selected by a selected group of music industry professionals..
Songs On The Bayou Songwriters Festival is presented by Last Honky Tonk Music Series and DaT SaUcE. Last Honky Tonk Music Series is a historic original roots music series of over 50 Official Artists in the roots country, outlaw country, blues, americana, folk and southern rock genres. It is five years in the running, producing regular shows in multiple Official Venues nationwide, as well as separate special events and festivals.
